The 14-Week Tea Mastery Certification
Course™, a four-month program, contains all of the educational
requirements an individual needs for achieving the prestigious
Certified Tea Master™ designation. The
course holds the high level of focus and support needed to gain the
competence and confidence to serve as a tea master at a distinguished
restaurant, hotel or tea court, or start one’s own successful enterprise.
The two-part 14-Week Tea Mastery Certification Course™ includes:
3-day
- COMPREHENSIVE TEA MASTERY COURSE (on-site)
14-week
- TEA MASTERY TELECOURSE (home study)
Each course is open to 10-12 registrants. Participants in this program stay together as a group for all 14 weeks, which means you are in a small and intimate group where in-depth sharing and learning takes place. The first 3-days is in-person at a training location, while the last 14 weeks involve home study and free weekly group teleconference calls. This assures a supportive learning environment with each participant as dedicated to their professional path as you are to yours.
The program is designed for and will benefit: Restaurant and tea court owners and managers, tea aficionados, industry suppliers, and others who wish to incorporate tea mastery skills into their daily lives or current profession, as well as anyone seriously interested in a career as a tea master.
The beauty of the program is that you can be up and running as a tea master following the first 3-days of training with all the tools, confidence and support needed. The program has been designed to make sure that your experience as a new tea master is filled with all the information, knowledge, and support needed to start serving guests immediately.
The following 14-weeks are focused on integrating and expanding what you learned during the initial 3-day training as you ill learn to consciously create your expanding practice as a tea master.
The program consists of two parts:
Part 1. 3-day COMPREHENSIVE TEA MASTERY COURSE
During the 3-day Comprehensive Tea Mastery Course, you will be totally immersed in a unique and intense week of accelerated learning and training, along with real-life practice sessions preparing and serving many different teas. See Schedule for training locations, dates, and details.
This is a great way to get started serving as a tea master. You receive all the core skills, structures, taste-testing protocols, philosophy, and first-hand experience, all at one time. It's a great jump-start to put your intention into practice!
Part 2. 14-week - TEA MASTERY TELECOURSE
The 14-week - Tea Mastery Telecourse begins a week after the conclusion of the 3-Day Comprehensive Tea Mastery Course. This part of the training is focused on integrating and expanding what was learned during the first part. Registrants will be working at home from the 132-page Tea Mastery Telecourse Training Manual with 14 departments, each on a separate variety of tea. They will be provided with three different tea samples corresponding to each department (i.e., 3 types of Japanese Green Tea, Chinese Green Tea, etc.). They will be assigned a different department each week and asked to taste-test and evaluate the three corresponding tea samples according to the protocol learned in the first part of the course, and then asked to submit their evaluations in a special online form created for this purpose.
On the first Wednesday following the end of the Comprehensive Tea Mastery Course, and each Wednesday thereafter for the next 13 weeks, the entire class will meet via an online teleconference call to discuss the specific teas in that week's department, including the tea tastings and evaluations, likes and dislikes, and other issues. We will follow this same procedure for the rest of the course.

Once completed, registrants will be asked to evaluate a "Mystery Tea" and take a final exam composed of 104 true-false and 4 essay questions. Graduates will be honored with the Certified Tea Master™ designation, a Certificate of Completion, and an engraved lapel pin.
