Overview
Now you can become a Certified Tea Master™
without ever leaving your home or office, all done using Skype,
a free audio-visual telephone system you can download to your computer.
The entire course is conducted one-on-one with a certfied tea master.
The association's new one-on-one 13-Week
Tea Mastery Certification Course™ via
Skype contains all of the educational requirements an
individual needs for achieving the prestigious
Certified Tea Master™ designation, along
with the competence and confidence to serve as a tea master at a distinguished
restaurant, hotel or tea court, or start one’s own successful enterprise.
Skype
is software that allows users to make free telephone calls over the
Internet to and from anywhere in the world. The company's recent development
enables users to use a computer webcam as well. The end result is that
two people can communicate just like a regular telephone call, but thanks
to the cameras, they can see each other's every movement. It's all live
and it's all free! It uses a technology called Voice Over Internet
Protocol (VoiP), which is a free audio-visual telephone system
allowing a connection between a student's computer (at a location of
his/her choice using a high-speed Internet connection) and our computer.
It is truly amazing technology and simple to operate.

You can be up and running as a tea master following 13 weeks of training with all the tools, confidence and support needed. The program has been designed to make sure that your first week of study is filled with all the information, experience, and support you need to start serving guests immediately.
The program consists of two parts:
Part 1. COMPREHENSIVE TEA MASTERY COURSE
During the Comprehensive Tea Mastery Course, you will be totally immersed in an accelerated learning and training environment, along with real-life practice sessions preparing and serving many different teas. You receive all the core skills, structures, taste-testing protocols, philosophy, and first-hand experience, all at one time. It's a great jump-start to put your intention into practice!
Part 2. TEA MASTERY TELECOURSE
The Tea Mastery Telecourse begins immediately after the conclusion of the Comprehensive Tea Mastery Course. This part of the training is focused on integrating and expanding what was learned during the first part. You will be working at home from the 132-page Tea Mastery Telecourse Training Manual with 14 departments, each on a separate variety of tea. You will be provided with several different tea samples corresponding to each department. A different department is assigned each week. You will taste-test and evaluate each department's tea samples according to the protocol learned in the first part of the course, and then asked to submit your evaluations in a special online form created for this purpose.
You will meet with your Certified Tea Master™ once a week via Skype at a mutually agreeable time to discuss the specific teas in each department. This same procedure will be followed each week of the course.

Once completed, there will be a final examination composed of multiple-choice and true-false questions, essay questions, and a blind taste-testing of a tea you will be asked to evaluate. Graduates will be honored with the Certified Tea Master™ designation, a certificate of completion, and an engraved lapel pin.
