Faculty - Lady Kelly MacVean

Lady Kelly MacVean, Certified Tea Master and Training Director of the American Tea Masters Association, lived and studied various facets of tea in England for three years. During that time she earned prestigious international tea master designations from the American Tea Masters Association and the United Kingdom Tea Council.

Lady Kelly has personally toured the Charleston Tea Plantation (the only tea plantation in the United States) and the Tregothnan Tea Plantation (the only tea plantation in England). Her company, Tea Inspired, is the U.S. distributor for Tregothnan Teas.

She has visited and researched over 100 tea rooms throughout the U.S. and U.K. and consults with chefs and restauranteurs, advising them in expanding their menus to include specially selected premium loose-leaf teas and instructing staff in the proper way to prepare and serve tea.

Lady Kelly is certified as a Tea Hostess in the proper etiquette of Traditional English Afternoon Teas and hosts charity fund raising Afternoon Tea Events as well as corporate and private tea parties. She also hosts tea tasting events using this venue to educate the consumer of the many health benefits derived from drinking tea.

Bringing 30 years of entrepreneurial experience to the American Tea Masters Association from various small businesses she has developed, she integrates her own unique style and energy into the Art of Tea. Guests attending her various events say “What a memorable experience!” Lady Kelly embraces the world of tea and her guests benefit from her expertise, personal warmth, and charming personality.
