Continuing Education: Monthly Group Tea Tastings

Our Monthly Group Tea Tastings program is open to all of our Certified Tea Masters and those currently enrolled in one of our training programs. Not only will you be able to taste and evaluate a special superior-grade tea each month, but you will have the opportunity to share your experience with others using our new online audio-visual system.

Best of all, the tea samples will be delivered to your door each month by San Francisco's world-famous Imperial Tea Court, which selects teas deemed as the most remarkable among the season's new arrivals. It's all part of their Tea of the Month Club. In each shipment, you will find approximately 2-4 ounces of tea, along with information about that particular tea and brewing recommendations. Your first shipment of tea comes with a free gift, too. Your yearly membership commences the month following your enrollment date and lasts for the next 12 months.

Roy Fong is the founder of Imperial Tea Court, the first traditional Chinese teahouse in America. Mr. Fong is regarded as one of the world's top authorities on Chinese and Taiwanese teas. Each year he visits selected tea gardens to supervise all aspects of production: from planting and cultivation to harvesting, processing, and grading.

Certified Tea Master Chas Kroll, executive director of the American Tea Masters Association, will lead the online tea preparation each month. Registrants are encouraged to participate step-by-step Gongfu Cha style.

We will be offering two separate times for participants to accommodate the different time zones you live in: 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM (Pacific Time). The class will meet on the first or second Sunday of each month.

There are two costs to enroll in the Monthly Group Tea Tastings program:
1. Imperial Tea Court normally charges $265 to enroll in its 12-month Tea of the Month Club. However, Mr. Fong has extended a special 10% discount of $26.50 to program registrants. 2. The American Tea Masters Association charges $60 annually for its role in managing the program.
