The
Value of Training to
Become a Certified Tea Master™
1. What are the most significant benefits you received by
completing the Tea Mastery Certification Course™?
“I'm passionate about tea. I have developed
all my career in the health care and beauty in very important
multinational and national companies, and since I started
6 years ago a course of yoga I discovered that changes must
be live in harmony and are unique the same as each type of
tea. In the Tea Mastery Ceretification Course I received all
the information, tools and training to speak with property
and authority from Tea Master Chas Kroll who I deeply admire
and from whom I learned that the most important is that cupping
is a journey into your own deep self, so will be different
for each person because "is a personal experience "
and it tastes different in every moment of life.”
Certified Tea Master Griselda Mariana
Churuvija, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tea Consultant
“Completing the Tea Master Certification Course
has given me a new focus and energy at a time when I most
needed it. The economy and other circumstances had not been
good to our businesses, and I found myself at a loss of what
to do about it. I had begun to doubt myself and my ability
to pull through. I had never really failed at anything before,
but I was feeling as though I had truly failed this time.
I had come up with numerous brilliant ideas of things we could
do to increase business, but somehow I just never managed
to follow through. “Going back to school” in the form of the
Tea Mastery Certification Course at my age was somewhat daunting,
to say the least. But in the end, I did it. I finished it!
That, in and of itself, was a big boost to my self confidence.
“The actual course taught me to tune in to my senses more
than I had ever done before. That is easier said than done!
I didn’t always get it right at first, but it forced me to
focus and appreciate not only the tea but everything around
me. It has changed the way I experience many things by using
all of my senses rather than just the obvious ones.”

completing the Tea Mastery Certification Course was an incredible
knowledge about tea that spread my credibility in my community.”

The Path of Tea (www.thepathoftea.com)
“I am very unconventional when it comes to
being a tea master, but there are qualities I retain that
are very traditional in mastering tea. First, what is mastery?
Mastery is the full command and understanding of a subject,
outstanding skill; expertise. Mastery is practice not knowledge
alone. As a tea master, I use my knowledge and passion for
tea to actively promote and uphold the highest standards of
quality and service to my audience. A traditional tea master
is responsible for selecting premium quality teas, and he/she
is the main influence on the integrity of the brand. I not
only pick particular tea leaves, but I also create tea blends
and menus for my clients. I have created menus for many restaurants
and hotels such as The JW Marriott’s six.one.six, The Rugby
Grille, Tribute restaurant, Toscana restaurant, Japengo restaurant,
the Grand Wailea Maui, and The Grand hotel Mackinac. I also
created the slimming, detoxing, energizing, and kick the coffee
programs for ONO tea and recommend specific ONO teaware to
complement the teas. It is my role as a tea master to not
only be knowledgeable in the subject of tea, but also be able
to recommend the appropriate teas to the consumer and teach
them how to brew and serve each one correctly.
“Unlike 'traditional' tea masters, I provide my tea services
via the Internet and in my tea lectures. When I host tea gatherings,
I usually give a tea tasting and then I make it fun by showing
my audience how to infuse tea in cooking and how to make fun
tea cocktails and martinis! In my opinion, tea mastery is
not only about being knowledgeable but also how skilled I
am at educating my audience. My goal is to make tea approachable,
interesting, and informative so that everyone can enjoy the
benefits of the leaves and appreciate the art of tea.”

“I enjoyed many benefits after completing the
Tea Mastery Certification Course, which supported my personal
commitment for continued growth. Most important, the first-hand
information and training received from my teacher, trainer,
and mentor, Certified Tea Master Chas Kroll, who during the
training process gave me all the tools and answers that inspired
me to go ahead in my own way to pursue mastery. I felt after
becoming certified that it was the first time I was able to
speak authoritatively about tea without contradictions, doubts,
and uncertainty. My words and knowledge became qualified to
many people and received with a high degree of respect.”

“My long hours working as a chef at a fast
paced world class resort have left me resolute that a new
career in tea is my path to a better, calmer, and healthier
existence. I am even more convinced of this since completing
the tea master certification as the knowledge I gained through
this class was extraordinary on many levels. I gained a multifaceted
knowledge of tea. I learned a new language of tea evaluation.
Studying tea has made me want to visit the tea growing regions
of the world, to see first hand the artful mastery of tea
manufacture and to drink tea in these exotic locales. Tea
to me is a truly absorbing and life-long learning experience
enhanced tenfold by the completion of the tea master class.”

“After completing the Tea Mastery Certification
Course I feel I was provided all the skills I needed to run
a successful tea company. Chas Kroll provided a thorough and

“In addition to confidence in the knowledge
of the history, manufacture, classification, discernment,
preparation and presentation of tea, I also benefit from a
higher understanding and respect regarding the tea “lifestyle.”
Through the course I had realized that tea could be incorporated
into my lifestyle to help me foster more mind and heart (soul)
presence. It has also helped me to add more discipline and
physical awareness in my day to day responsibilities both
in and out of the tea field.”

How has the Certified Tea Master™ designation helped
you?
“The tea master certificate offered me more
credibility and respectability to anyone working in the tea
industry, and I feel very proud because I am the first certified
tea master in Buenos Aires. Before taking the course all my
knowledge was a very personal and self search because in my
city there were none tea course only differents peolple talking
about the history of tea.”
Certified Tea Master Griselda Mariana
Churuvija, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tea Consultant
“The Certified Tea Master designation has forced
me to continue studying. The community and specifically our
customers now consider me to be an authority on tea. As such,
I have felt the need to delve even deeper into certain topics
so as not to disappoint (myself most of all). I have also
had to hone my public speaking skills, as I have been asked
to do presentations and tea tastings. This also has helped
to boost my self confidence. The designation has definitely
helped our business. Tea sales have increased ten-fold if
not more! We have become the only place in town to order tea.
and whereas we have always tried to promote “afternoon tea”
(with very little success), we now do several each week. Several
local businesses are interested in carrying our teas, and
soon we will be selling online.
“Things are definitely looking up, and although we still have
a long way to go, now we can see the light at the end of the
tunnel. And best of all—I have started to dream again! Plans
for the future…”

“When a person sees the word “Master” associated
with someone's name, they pay attention to what you have to
say. It has gotten me bookings on television about tea. I
shared the same information in my tea tastings before I was
a Certified Tea Master, but people listen more intensely now
that I have that certification.”

“Being a tea master has helped me gain more
credibility with the viewers on my blog and my social media
sites. I am able to make tea fun and exciting, and at the
same time use my knowledge as a tea master to educate my audience
on all the different types of teas, their benefits, the history
of tea, and share with them some cool things they may not
have known about tea.”

“The Certified Tea Master designation helped
me to construct a new career path, which I am now living.
It transformed my professional life and I really love it.
Several articles written by me were published in local newspapers
here in Argentina; a number of tea blogs contacted me for
interviews. My new designation as Certified Tea Master attracted
more people to me, my teashops, and my new tea school. Becoming
a Certified Tea Master opened my eyes to a new reality, which
was always in front of me, but my senses were unable to grasp.
That is...the way of tea.”

“I signed up for the tea master certification
because I liked tea but knew it was a subject of which I was
totally ignorant. The knowledge I gained by becoming a tea
master has not only given me the education I sought but more
importantly given me the confidence and courage to start my
own business in the near future. I am so proud to be a tea
master, and even though I know I have the pleasure of years
more to learn, this title gives me the credentials to go forth
and teach what I have learned of tea.”

“The Certified Tea Master designation has helped
direct more clients to my tea business as well as to my personal
medical practice. I have had ample opportunities to enter
into the businesses of potential clients as an expert in my
field. This designation turns heads and draws interest into
my business. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a tea
master.”

“Before being Certified, I was running a small
teashop in my country, Argentina. What I learned helped me
to strengthen many aspects of my business and open a second
unit. This ultimately resulted in my launching the Escuela
Argentina de Té (Argentina School of Tea), which is giving
me a lot of happiness due to the quality and caliber of the
people who enrolled. We also developed a tea blog as our company,
Agni Teashop, became the first in Argentine with its own tea
blog. I encourage every tea lover to consider the chance to
study with Chas Kroll, because he is one of the most important
Tea Masters in the western world with more than 15 years dedicated
to the tea industry.”

“In early 2010, I started a tea company called
A Leaf of Tea. At the end of the year we made a significant
profit while creating a large tea dispensary, retail sales
model, wholesale model, and extensive tea service and trainings.
This would not have been possible without the American Tea
Masters Association.”

“The course is taught in a very organized and
methodical fashion, allowing each student to grasp the understanding
of tea in a way that suits their individual personalities,
their resources and their business plans. As mentioned above,
my pathway to greater tea understanding was also complemented
by the addition of discipline and focus exercises which greatly
aided my fledging tea business (as tea event planner, consultant
and master blender). Skills such as efficient tea business
organization (including steps to wise financial decision-making
by way of tea pricing and the monitoring and control of operation
costs) were firmly instilled in me and has prepared me for
a successful tea business venture.”
